Invisalign
Invisalign ‘invisible’ braces are the ultimate discreet option for those hoping to achieve straighter teeth. As a leading Oxford Invisalign clinic we are delighted to offer this advanced orthodontic treatment to patients at The Smile Practice, teenagers and adults all are welcome.
What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is a very discreet type of removable brace that can be worn with ease and confidence. The brace can fix a range of orthodontic issues, including tooth gaps, overbites, underbites, crossbites and crowding. However, patients will need to be assessed during an initial consultation to find whether they are suitable for treatment.
Invisalign works in a similar way to traditional braces only they are practically invisible, with treatment time usually being from 6-18 months.
How does Invisalign work?

The dentist will firstly take an impression of your teeth and send a model of your teeth to Invisalign headquarters in the US, where the aligners are created and then sent back. The aligners are custom-made as per your specific case, and each one will need to be worn for two weeks before changing to the next one. This means that treatment develops according to a specific plan and that there is no need for adjustments like with other braces. You will need to wear each aligner for the minimum of 20 hours each day for best results.
Advantages include:
- The braces are virtually invisible, making them ideal for those who don’t want to be seen to be wearing braces.
- The aligners can be removed when you need to eat or clean your teeth.
Disadvantages include:
- The braces can be more expensive than others, but for such a discreet treatment who can argue.
Our Oxford Invisalign dental clinic is ready to serve your needs today.
